Wales Equality & Diversity in Health & Social Care (WEDHS) is a research and support group that forms part of Clinical Research Collaboration Cymru (CRC Cymru). It aims to deliver, support and encourage high quality research in Wales around the health and social care needs of black and ethnic minorities.

The current portfolio of WEDHS projects is nearing completion and the conference is an opportunity to:

  • showcase the work of NWREN, the WEDHS north Wales hub
  • disseminate the key messages that have emerged from research
  • bring interested parties together to share research ideas and good practice.

The conference is aimed at health & social care practitioners, policy makers, equality managers, academics, researchers, those working in the area of patient, user, public and community engagement as well as individuals interested in ethnic minority health and social care issues.

Conference themes will include:

  • Engagement, Inclusion & Equity
  • Race equality in rural areas
  • Healthcare needs of undocumented migrants
  • Developing effective engagement with minority ethnic households
  • Supporting professionals working with cultural diversity
